Skin science
Your body’s largestarmor.
Skin is a layered structure that shields you from the outside world, balances your temperature, and wears down and renews itself with every shave. Knowing how it works is the first step to the right care.

The architecture of men's skin
01Surface
A team works on the surface.
A community of bacteria and yeasts lives on top of your skin. When this team is in balance, skin stays calm. In men the surface is also shared with a beard: every shave touches this layer.
The five-minute basics
Four steps.No more.
Cleanse01/04
Gel, not soap.
A face cleanser with a pH close to the skin's own that removes the day's oil, sweat and dirt without leaving skin tight. Morning and evening, with lukewarm water.
Shave02/04
With the grain, with a sharp blade.
Soften your face with lukewarm water, let the lather sit for a minute, shave in the direction of growth with few passes. Change blades often.
Moisturise03/04
Cream, not cologne.
After shaving, a moisturiser that supports the barrier instead of an alcohol splash. Creams with prebiotics can help support the skin’s natural balance.
Protect04/04
SPF 30 every morning.
Men use sunscreen the least. Against the biggest cause of wrinkles and dark spots this is the most effective step; on a bearded face a gel or spray works.
Know your skin type
Normal skin
If your face doesn't feel tight after washing and doesn't get greasy by noon, you're lucky: your skin is in balance. Here's how to protect that balance for years despite shaving, sun and a busy schedule.
02Dry skin
If your face burns after shaving, feels tight during the day and white flakes build up under your beard, your skin is running low on water and oil. Here's where dryness comes from in men and how to build a moisture routine that gets along with shaving.
03Oily skin
If your forehead and nose are shiny by noon, your pores are visible and breakouts are frequent visitors, your skin is a high oil producer. Here's why this is more common in men and how to balance shine without drying your skin out.
04Combination skin
If your forehead and nose are shiny by noon but your cheeks and shaving area feel tight, you're carrying two different skin types on one face. Here's how to balance combination skin by giving each zone what it needs.
05Sensitive and shave-prone skin
If your neck turns red after shaving, your face burns when you apply lotion, or stinging starts after you try a new product, you're not alone. Here's why sensitive skin reacts and how to stop shaving from feeling like a battle.
06Mature skin (45+)
If the lines on your forehead are getting deeper, the area around your eyes looks tired and shaving nicks heal more slowly than they used to, your skin has entered a new stage. Here's what changes in men's skin after 45 and a smart routine to match.
